Baldus Medizintechnik GmbH has launched a new series of congresses for dentists under the motto “nitrous oxide sedation: next generation”. Last Saturday around 100 participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland attended the premiere in the Rhein-Mosel-Halle Koblenz.
The n2o academy of Baldus Medizintechnik GmbH was the organizer of the new series of congresses for dental nitrous oxide sedation. Inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide is common in many of our neighboring countries. It is a gentle calming method for all anxiety patients and the perfect remedy for the unpopular gag reflex. In Germany, nitrous oxide sedation is experiencing enormous growth in dental practices in all disciplines, which is why the n2o Academy was the first to offer a platform to bring users and interested parties together.
At a high scientific level, selected speakers from various medical areas provided insights into their everyday lives with nitrous oxide sedation. The congress was opened from the perspective of anesthesia by Dr. Sabrina Irsch. The positive properties of laughing gas in comparison with other sedatives were highlighted. Dr. Philipp Habermann, a dentist specializing in implantology and periodontology, reported directly from practice about patients with strong gag reflex and gave tips on live sedation. Dr. gave lectures on patient and parent management Lama Issa, pediatric dentist from Syria and Dr. Isabell von Gymnich, Vice President of the German Society for Pediatric Dentistry.
In her highly scientific lecture, Dr. Barbara Mohr, senior physician at the University Hospital Bonn, explained the safety of nitrous oxide sedation and made the participants aware of the great benefits of the soothing method nitrous oxide. A highlight among the speakers was Dr. Torsten Glas from Leipzig, specialist in oral surgery, who amazed the audience as an entertainer with a live vocal performance. The lecture on phobia patients and the surprising considerations and procedures with which they can be cracked has thrilled everyone.
The exchange between colleagues was particularly important to dentists, since nitrous oxide sedation is taught at only a few universities. Unlike abroad, German universities still do not know how to rate nitrous oxide sedation. For this reason, the 1st German nitrous oxide congress was very well received by the dentists.
“We are overwhelmed by the great feedback from the participants and our speakers on the 1st German Nitrous Oxide Congress. As an idea slowly turned into a congress concept, the tension increased daily until the premiere day. In retrospect, we can say that the Baldus nitrous oxide sedation team organized a perfect event and that we, as a family company, can be very proud to be able to offer this type of conference, ”said Managing Director Fabian Baldus.
The event ended with the n2o Eventnight with a boat trip by the Gilles shipping company from Vallendar. The sunset started with a barbecue on deck and a glass of local wine. With summer temperatures and background music, all participants were able to experience the perfect Rhine romance.
In summary it can be said that the 1st German nitrous oxide congress was accepted by the dental world. It was a congress on a high scientific level. The feedback from the participants was consistently positive, so that the first participants already agreed to the 2nd German Nitrous Oxide Congress in September 2020.
