The Corona crisis has now overtaken all companies and industries and unfortunately the cultural sector in particular is suffering from a lack of income. The same is true of the Neuwied Zoo. The zoo not only suffers from the loss of entrance fees, the animals also suffer from not being visited anymore. The carers are now trying to counter boredom with games and activities. A lot can be crafted, but not everything. Medicinal products, plants or even materials for nature care have to be bought. And so the ingenious idea of creating and distributing an animal wish list came about. The zoo used social media platforms to reach as many people as possible. This is how the message of the animal wishes came to Urbar. "A great opportunity to get involved," decided Fabian Baldus, Managing Director of Baldus Medizintechnik GmbH. The one you want pulse oximeter is a well-known piece of equipment in your own professional context and, with its acquisition costs, is not so easy to obtain for the zoo.

On Friday, December 4th, 2020, the time had come. The handover in front of the gates of the Neuwieder Zoo was a fulfilling and happy event. The director of the zoo, Mr. Thiel, took it pulse oximeter gratefully accepted. "This is a tremendous addition to our Veterinary Department," added Ms. Waked, Zoo Educator. So far, some citizens have already taken part in the Christmas campaign, but many wishes are still open. It is also possible for people with smaller budgets to participate, because there are also some inexpensive items on the wish list, such as secateurs or bell toys for less than 5 euros. And it's also made easy for you: Simply order the item online and enter Neuwied Zoo as the shipping address.

"Take part in this great campaign! It just feels good to help. If you get the opportunity to do good, you should take it,” says Fabian Baldus, the owner of Baldus Medizintechnik.

The local family business Baldus® Medizintechnik GmbH was founded in 1993 and is now being run by the 2nd generation. The range of services includes sales, planning, assembly, maintenance and service of nitrous oxide sedation systems and medical gas systems. The Baldus company was recently nominated for the Grand Prix for medium-sized companies.
